My father saw an advert in a tram for Junior Clerks at the Department of Road Transport and Tramways, 99 Macqsuarie St, Sydney. I went to the City and applied for a position. After doing a written english test I was accepted and started on the 14th February 1949 as a Relief Officer on the tramways side.
