My father was renting the Willoughby home and my mother wanted her own home, so my father eventually obtained a low-interest War Service Loan and bought a home at 33 Leura Road Auburn It was a 2-bedroom,lounge and dining room and kitchen and for a couple of years crowded, with our two parents, sister Joan, brother Bob, and grandmother Eliza Dwyer and myself. My father Les enclosed the small back verandah into a bedroom for Nan, and built a bedroom at the back of the house for my brother and me.
