I was working in Transport House, 99 Macquarie Street. It had a yard where trucks and cars were inpected for road worthiness, and the yard opened onto Bridge Street. Queen Elizabeth was touring Australia and the city streets were decked out with flags, signs and arches high over the roadway- and full of cheering people. The Queen and Duke came up Bridge Street...I was perched up high on a large gate-post and snapped this photo
